The Glasgow facility, situated approximately 30 minutes from Bowling Green, employs around 120 team members and specializes in the production of 3A's FOME-COR product.

Purpose of the Role

The Plant Manager will oversee the Glasgow facility, demonstrating a strong blend of business acumen and technical expertise. With a workforce of over 120 employees, the Plant Manager will hold comprehensive operational accountability encompassing safety, production, quality, and talent management. This highly visible position will engage with employees on the production floor as well as the Management Team. This role is essential to 3A's strategic growth initiatives by promoting operational excellence and a customer-centric approach.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess experience in managing a production facility and leading a team. They should be adept at analyzing each phase of the manufacturing process and effectively utilizing resources to achieve optimal results. Additionally, the candidate must diligently adhere to safety and compliance standards to foster a healthy work environment for all staff.

  • Oversee operations of a 24/7 manufacturing facility, including budget management, production scheduling, and inventory control.
  • Ensure a clean and safe workplace, cultivating a culture of safety excellence at all levels within the plant.
  • Evaluate production costs and inventory to identify areas for enhancement.
  • Manage all facets of the plant's cost structure, including direct and indirect labor and maintenance, while proactively safeguarding profitability.
  • Guarantee compliance with workplace regulations and policies.
  • Coordinate the effective use of production capacity, staffing, and equipment through strategic planning and scheduling.
  • Continuously enhance customer satisfaction through initiatives aimed at ensuring on-time delivery that meets or exceeds quality and cost expectations.
  • Establish a sense of urgency and accountability within the plant to ensure timely responses to customer and employee needs.
  • Monitor raw materials and supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering).
  • Experience in extrusion is preferred.
  • Proven track record in plant management and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and supervisory abilities.
