Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Support Lead to join our team at Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics of America, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily execution of engineering support staff, engineering project material management, capital infrastructure project execution, and continuous improvement of engineering work processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of mechanical designers, engineering technicians, and other support staff in their daily execution.
  • Prepare schedules for incoming work and coordinate work priorities with requesting departments.
  • Enter data into the ERP system for part numbers, bills of material, and method of manufacturing.
  • Establish and maintain design drafting practices consistent with company policies.
  • Perform and schedule revisions to engineering documents in compliance with approved company standards.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute capital projects to improve test capacity/capability of the engineering laboratory, enhance office facilities, etc.
  • Primary responsibility for procurement, receipt, and storage of engineering project material.
  • Primary responsibility for engineering laboratory infrastructure: utilization, organization, and cleanliness.
  • Continuous improvement of engineering work processes, improving overall productivity and capacity of the engineering department.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma and 10+ years' experience manufacturing technical products.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
  • Experience using Solidworks or other 3D CAD modeling software.
  • Capable of reading engineering drawings and translating product requirements to production.
  • Demonstrated ability to author clear, concise instructions for work processes, purchasing specifications, and manufacturing methods.
  • Able to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization.
