Job Summary

Denver Health is seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist II to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammograms, as well as breast ultrasounds, at a technical level that requires minimal supervision. Your expertise will be essential in assisting radiologists during interventional procedures, such as breast biopsies and needle localizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms following established protocols and physician orders.
  • Conduct breast ultrasound imaging studies in a timely manner, adhering to established protocols and radiologist directions.
  • Assist radiologists during interventional procedures, including breast biopsies and needle localizations.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity by following patient care guidelines and using two patient identifiers.
  • Operate PACS applications, including archiving, image auto-routing, and prefetching tasks, to ensure image quality assurance and other related activities.
  • Assist in maintaining department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on medical supplies used during general radiographic examinations.
  • Ensure the Mammography department is equipped and maintained in a clean, safe, and hazard-free manner.
  • Attend and participate in departmental huddles, general intradepartmental meetings, and Radiology's inservices.
Requirements
  • Post-high school diploma or certificate program required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in performing radiographic procedures required.
  • 1-3 years of professional work experience in performing mammography studies required.
  • RTR-RT Radiography - ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge in operating digital mammography equipment and related technology.
  • Competency in performing screening/diagnostic mammograms and interventional breast procedures.
  • Knowledge in operating breast ultrasound equipment and related technology.
  • Knowledge of addressing age-specific care needs of patients.
  • Effective interpersonal skill sets leading to productive communications and collaborations.
  • Competency in interpreting physician order requests for screening/diagnostic breast examinations.
  • Ability to exercise prudent judgment in selecting and configuring equipment settings to compensate for patient physiologic variances.
  • Ability to consistently produce quality images related to the breast region.
  • General computer knowledge.
