Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at i4 Search Group. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Assure that cleaning activities are ongoing, thereby consistently maintaining instrumentation needed for caseload.
  • Clean and maintain operating rooms before and after surgical procedures. Maintain cleaning solutions and cleaning equipment.
  • Troubleshoot problems related to equipment, supplies, and service. Takes appropriate corrective action and informs manager when needed.
  • Exercise caution when using chemicals/cleaning fluids that are toxic or caustic.
  • Assure that solid/infectious waste is collected and delivered to the collection area in a timely manner.
  • Assists the OR team in lifting, positioning, transferring, and caring for the sedated/anesthetized patients in the O.R. and PACU.
  • Assists in monitoring patients for positioning safety-related issues under the guidance of the RN and notifies the RN of safety issues.
  • Follows accepted recommended guidelines for moving, positioning, and holding limbs of patients.
  • Actively participates in the time-out process.
  • Transports requested items such as sterile and non-sterile supplies, SPD items, charts, records, and equipment between departments and surgical units in a timely manner.
  • Monitors operative schedule to ensure required supplies and implants are available.
  • Maintains principles of aseptic technique. Notifies team members when breaks in technique, occur and takes appropriate measures to correct breaks in technique.
  • Responsible for point-of-use cleaning for all surgical instruments, and break-down of surgical instruments and equipment before transporting them to the Sterile Processing Room.
Requirements:
  • 1 year of CST experience
  • Completed a nationally accredited surgical technology program and holds/maintains certification as a surgical technologist from a national certifying body approved by the State of TN.
  • Completed an accredited surgical technologist program but has not obtained certification as a surgical technologist but obtains required certification no later than eighteen (18) months after completion of program.
  • Performed surgical technology services as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility on or before May 21, 2007 and has been designated by the healthcare facility as being competent to perform surgical technology services based on prior experience or specialized training validated by competency in current practice.
  • Completed a training program for surgical technology in the armed forces of the United States, the National Guard, or the United States Public Health Services.
  • BLS
