Job Title: Respite Care Specialist

Location: Verona, Wisconsin

Position Type: Part-time (2-3 hours per week)

Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respite Care Specialist to assist an individual on the autism spectrum. The primary goal of this position is to provide support and companionship as he engages with the community and participates in enjoyable activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to the individual during community outings, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Assist with planning and engaging in fun activities that align with his interests, such as visiting parks, malls, attending events, or participating in recreational activities.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging environment to help build confidence and social skills.
  • Communicate effectively with the individual to understand his needs and preferences.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate outings and activities as needed.
  • Report any significant observations or concerns to the family or care team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or similar special needs is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Ability to engage in recreational and community activities.
  • Availability for 2-3 hours per week, with flexibility for scheduling.
  • Must pass a background check.
