Overview: The Materials Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the manufacturing process by overseeing inventory management, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring accurate inventory records. This position involves logistics support, receiving products into inventory, and delivering necessary materials to the production area. Additionally, the role encompasses material handling responsibilities, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts for efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the smooth production and distribution of goods by efficiently pulling orders from inventory, delivering necessary materials and supplies, and preparing finished products for distribution.
  • Maintains a high standard of accuracy in record-keeping and database management.
  • Contributes to the effective organization of stock and materials storage areas.
  • Monitors inventory levels by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies stocked, while also recording inventory locations and reporting any shortages.
  • Locates required materials and supplies by verifying items listed on pick lists.
  • Ensures in-process inventory is maintained at work centers by addressing shortages and fulfilling floor stock needs.
  • Documents materials delivered and tracks the location of units.
  • Packs materials for shipping efficiently.
  • Handles returns to stock by verifying material part numbers and quantities.
  • Prepares finished goods for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing products.
  • Records product shipments accurately by documenting units shipped.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment through regular inspections and necessary repairs.
  • Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to facilitate the movement of materials on and off trucks and loading docks.
  • Ensures cleanliness in inventory areas, loading zones, and machinery.
  • Adheres to workplace safety regulations and protocols.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 software is advantageous.
  • Proficient in using desktop copiers and scanners for document management.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Work Environment:

This position operates within a warehouse setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and photocopiers, as well as operating forklifts and pallet jacks.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb as necessary. Employees must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with heavier weights managed using appropriate equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary.
  • Preferred experience includes 1+ years in inventory control.
  • Previous experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus.
