About the Role

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled System Network Administrator and Performance Optimizer to join our team at Procession Systems. As a key member of our Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) contract, you will be responsible for monitoring systems and networks at critical sites to ensure optimal performance and situational awareness for national military Command and Control (C2) systems in the National Capital Region and remote locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical network monitoring and performance management support for information systems operations at JSSC-controlled C2 system sites and assets. Plan, direct, and coordinate network monitoring and management activities to ensure reliability and quality transmission.
  • Manage and troubleshoot commercial applications within designated system environments, documenting outages and conducting performance analysis to ensure system functionality.
  • Collaborate with customers and leadership to address technical issues, providing system administration support and guidance on network performance.
  • Identify and resolve network problems, keeping management and customers informed, and advise on network performance improvements.
  • Plan and implement network upgrades and enhancements, recording outages and conducting system performance evaluations.
  • Monitor network, server, and application availability, collecting performance data and identifying potential issues using diagnostic tools.
  • Troubleshoot network-related incidents, develop strategies for improvement, document outages, and ensure proper notifications.
  • Run batch jobs or scripts to maintain system uptime, analyze performance data, and recommend solutions.
  • Coordinate with designated sites for performance monitoring and troubleshooting, assist with SNMP configuration, and software installation.
  • Exercise independent judgment in achieving contract objectives, anticipate customer needs, and plan system upgrades accordingly.
  • Manage resource usage to optimize network availability and minimize costs, communicate effectively with users and external organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and other protocols, stay updated on training and certification requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, AND an active CompTIA Security+ CE certification OR equivalent; AND at least 5 years of general information technology experience.
  • Top Secret with SCI Eligibility clearance.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year.
