Job Title: Senior Technical Consultant - Principal Network Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Consultant - Principal Network Systems Engineer to join our team at the Office of Naval Research (ONR) in Arlington, VA. This role is hybrid, with 3 days/week onsite. The ideal candidate will have an active Secret clearance and be eligible for a Top Secret clearance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day operations management and design, implementation, documentation, and troubleshooting of the enterprise server environment.
  • Manage server infrastructure related problems, performance, and capacity, working closely with the Principal Network Engineer on network infrastructure issues.
  • Develop and provide recommendations for technical refresh efforts, opportunities to improve capability while driving down costs, and innovative changes to meet and exceed service level agreements.
  • Manage a team responsible for systems engineering, security engineering, and workstation and server vulnerability remediation and patch management.
  • Provide expert technical support, administration, and engineering on all Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and the entire VMWare environment.
  • Monitor, performance tune, troubleshoot, and resolve systems problems to ensure system availability and lead changes to OS, databases, applications, servers, storage, network, and backups in the data center and development environments.
  • Manage the configuration, administration, upgrade, and maintenance of corporate and DR servers and related infrastructure as well as the Storage Environment.
  • Experience with wired and wireless network administration and engineering, including LAN/WAN and desktop issues, SNA implementation principles, routing protocol options, and LAN/WAN principles.
  • Experience solving network server problems or network infrastructure issues and managing the performance and capacity of a VLAN/LAN/WAN environment.
  • Experience in installation and testing of security patches and cyber security products and hands-on experience designing and supporting AWS environment and utilizing AWS administrator portal.
  • Experience supporting Cloud Architects to provide operational network architectures to meet mission system and development environment requirements.
  • Experience anticipating future network requirements, researching and analyzing emerging technologies, and applying them to business needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively more difficult experience related to system/server design and administration.
  • Ten (10) years of overall experience related to network design and administration.
  • At least three (3) years of experience managing technical staff.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in physical and virtual server administration and engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of and ability to use hardware, software, and other common server/network and user equipment.
  • Ability to solve server problems or server infrastructure issues and manage the performance and capacity of an enterprise server environment.
Required Certifications and Clearance
  • IAM Level II certification such as CISSP, CASP+, or equivalent.
  • VCP, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Server+, Microsoft Server Certification, Certified Network Engineer, or similar professional computing environment certification.
  • Top Secret Clearance.
