Pediatric Cancer Center Certified Child Life Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team at the Pediatric Cancer Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide evidence-based, developmentally appropriate interventions to support infants, children, youth, and families affected by cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Provide therapeutic play, preparation, and education to reduce fear, anxiety, and pain in pediatric cancer patients and their families.
- Collaborate with the medical team to develop and implement individualized plans of care that meet the psychosocial needs of patients and families.
- Support family-centered care through effective communication and involvement of parents and other family members.
- Assist in the clinical training of child life students and supervise child life volunteers.
- Completion of the Child Life Professional Certification Examination administered by the Child Life Certification Commission.
- CPR Certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a closely related field.
- Minimum completion of the child life clinical training requirements (internship) in accordance with the guidelines established by the Association of Child Life Professionals.
Works in a well-lighted, heated, ventilated building. Hours may vary to accommodate needs in the department. Exposure to blood borne pathogens is of low risk. May be required to work in areas other than primary assignment.
