We are looking for a seasoned and proficient Site Construction Manager to become a vital part of our innovative team at MHG Hotels. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the effective execution of all site-specific activities essential for the successful completion of construction projects. Responsibilities encompass a variety of tasks such as project scheduling, financial forecasting, budget management, scope definition, and inventory oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all construction activities related to the project.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Team to ensure project success.
  • Guide field personnel to achieve project completion on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain the project schedule, supervising all phases until final completion.
  • Ensure compliance with plans and specifications while maintaining quality workmanship.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings effectively.
  • Identify potential challenges and propose practical solutions to the Project Management Team to keep the project on track.
  • Conduct inspections of all contracted work to ensure adherence to contract terms and local regulations.
  • Coordinate necessary municipal and special inspections as required by local authorities.
  • Manage the scheduling and coordination of utility companies involved in the project.
  • Facilitate site testing and inspection efforts as agreed upon with project stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Project Engineers and Managers to ensure timely material reservations and delivery coordination with suppliers.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all personnel, including the design team, contractors, suppliers, and municipal representatives.
  • Promote a culture of safety on the job site, encouraging safe work practices and addressing hazards immediately.
  • Commit to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions and by mentoring others.
  • Prepare and submit Daily Reports detailing weather conditions, field activities, workforce status, and any project-impacting factors.
  • Organize weekly meetings with subcontractors to discuss project progress.
  • Implement cost control measures related to project changes.
  • Provide regular updates through Procore reports and meeting minutes.
  • Deliver a two-week look-ahead schedule to subcontractors and the Project Management Team.
  • Generate weekly SWPPP reports.
  • Participate in and assist with Monthly OAC meetings with the Project Management Team.
  • Offer training and educational opportunities to field personnel to ensure project success.
  • Maintain an orderly job site and construction office.
  • Encourage a positive work atmosphere that supports professional growth and development.
  • Mentor the development of the assigned Assistant Superintendent.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Become proficient in the company’s software tools, including Procore, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, Blue Beam Revu, and Sage 300.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field, or 8-10 years of relevant experience in the construction sector.
  • Strong background in wood framing is preferred.
  • Experience in ground-up multi-family and hospitality construction is advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, foresight, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate goals and tasks clearly and follow through effectively.
  • Creative and innovative thinking capabilities.
  • Professional judgment and discretion developed through experience with customer service, internal teams, and third-party consultants.

Success in this role requires a professional demeanor and the ability to engage and connect with others effortlessly. Strong problem-solving instincts, clear communication, and the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships are essential. A clean and professional appearance is expected, along with a willingness to travel as necessary.

This position may involve prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting. The ability to read and verify information in various formats is necessary, as is the capacity to manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights. Physical tasks may include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing less than 50 pounds independently, with heavier items requiring assistance. Mobility around the job site, including stairs and ladders, is also required.
