Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate RN Blood Cancer Oncology Specialist to join our team at Medical City Dallas. As a key member of our healthcare family, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to individuals with blood cancer and disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Texas Nursing Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process outcomes for oncology patients with emphasis on blood cancer and disorders.
  • Determine the predictable or unpredictable health status and health needs of patients (individual and family) through interpretation of health data and preventive practice in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary health care team members.
  • Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient.
  • Formulate a nursing care plan based on determination of nursing diagnoses and identified problems.
  • Implement nursing care within the RN's scope of practice, including compliance with other laws that apply to the practice setting.
  • Develop and implement teaching plans for patients concerning promotion, maintenance and restoration of health.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Required.
  • Registered Nurse.
  • ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate Provider must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Recent/Current Acute Care experience in a Hospital Setting.
  • Previous experience in Oncology, BMT, Critical Care, ICU or PCU.
