The Certified Dietary Manager, reporting to the Administrator, is responsible for the strategic planning and effective management of the department's resources. Under the supervision of the Dietitian, the manager will provide nutritional care for residents and patients, assess needs, complete assessments, develop and implement standard care plans, and ensure follow-up care.Qualifications and Experience
1.

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred. The director of nutrition and food services must meet at least one of the following criteria—1. A certified dietary manager; or2. A certified food service manager; or3. Holds a similar national certification for food service management and safety from a recognized certifying body; or4.

Possesses an associate's or higher degree in food service management or hospitality, with coursework in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution; or5.

Has 2 or more years of experience as a director of nutrition and food services in a long-term care setting and has completed a course of study in food safety and management that includes essential topics for managing dietary operations, including foodborne illness, sanitation procedures, and food purchasing/receiving.

Any dietary manager who has not completed an approved Dietary Manager's course must enroll in a course within 90 days of hire and complete it within 18 months. Paid Training Available.

Experience:

Previous extensive food service experience in a hospital or long-term care environment with patient/resident interaction is preferred, but not mandatory.

Compensation**Actual hourly rate will be determined based on experience.
