Vascular Sonographer

As a Vascular Sonographer at SUNY Upstate Medical University, you will be responsible for performing non-invasive vascular studies at various locations, preparing detailed reports, and assisting during invasive procedures. Your expertise will be essential in providing accurate information to aid in final reporting and contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

• Perform vascular non-invasive studies, including extracranial cerebrovascular, intracranial cerebrovascular, and upper and lower extremity arterial duplex and physiologic testing
• Prepare detailed reports, including test data and written preliminary interpretations
• Assist during invasive procedures in multiple settings, including the operating room
• Provide accurate information pertinent to clinical findings to assist in final reporting
• Transcribe, type, and code results of non-invasive exams

• Graduation from an accredited 2-year allied health program and two years of post-graduate experience or graduation from an accredited vascular/ultrasound program with equivalent vascular experience and active certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Solid knowledge base of anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and pathology and how it relates to non-invasive vascular testing
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross

• A minimum of two years' experience post-internship performing vascular ultrasounds
• Bachelor's degree
