Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team. This role is essential in monitoring operations and processes to ensure that products meet established standards. The Quality Inspector will review specifications, oversee production processes, and identify any defects in materials and goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular in-process audits to verify compliance with standards.
  • Perform necessary tests, including dimensional, impact, burst, and crush tests.
  • Ensure calibration of all equipment and document daily plausibility tests.
  • Maintain records of analyses, test results, and other quality documentation.
  • Lead training for new hires and quality training for production staff.
  • Assist production teams in troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Manage sample requests and returns.
  • Support material trials and communicate issues to production and quality assurance teams.
  • Conduct application testing according to functional requirements.
  • Organize and gather testing metrics, including bug tracking, to support testing activities.
  • Coordinate QA activities for release cycles and maintain test plans and cases.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of QA test environments.
  • Perform incoming inspections and assist with test automation efforts.
  • Conduct QA inspections in designated areas.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance and Manufacturing.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).

Expected Outcomes:

  • Within 3 months: Understand how your role contributes to Atkore's strategy and complete necessary training.
  • Within 6 months: Familiarize yourself with current training materials and collaborate with team members on process improvements.
  • Within 12 months: Create and update inspection documentation, collaborate with operations to address quality issues, and lead initiatives for process enhancements.
