Key Responsibilities- Interpret, profile, and dispense medication orders accurately and efficiently.
- Supervise the production of compounded products, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice, as well as Joint Commission standards.
- In the absence of the Manager or Director, supervise department or assigned work area operations, including scheduling staff coverage and coordinating support personnel time.
- Initiate, document, and participate in department activities promoting positive patient outcomes, such as identifying medication process issues, participating in Code Blue activities, and working with inter-professional teams to optimize order sets and medication-related policies.
- Assist in the orientation and training of pharmacists, technicians, students, and residents, and perform competencies on staff as required.
- Handle patient and staff complaints in a professional manner.
- Monitor and coordinate the workflow of medication preparation and delivery, working to provide timely delivery of medications and streamlining medication processes with inter-professional staff.
- Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy with a minimum of a BS in Pharmacy, with a PharmD preferred.
- Kentucky Pharmacist Registration or eligibility.
- Hospital experience and completion of an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency are preferred.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
