Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at UNC Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for conducting procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Identification: Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, and ensure patient safety.
  • MRI Technology: Demonstrate knowledge of MRI and cross-sectional human anatomy, operate MRI scanners, and maintain active status with the ARRT.
  • Contrast Administration: Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients, establish intravenous lines, and follow safe and proper injection procedures.
  • Image Transfer: Maintain thorough understanding of PACS, transmit images to QC, UNCH's EMR, EPIC, and PACS, and verify patient identification.
  • Other Duties: Perform tasks in a timely manner, run the schedule, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible.
  • Requires advanced certification in MR within one year of employment.
  • Successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week. The work assignment type is onsite, and the work schedule is weekend-based.
