About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in conducting procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct MRI procedures and tests to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data
  • Operate MRI scanners, proficient in automatic injections of MRI contrast, disc drives, gateways, PACS, and laser printers
  • Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols
  • Establish intravenous lines and administer IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures
  • Verify patient identification and demographic information
  • Transmit images to QC, UNCH's EMR, EPIC, and PACS
  • Perform other duties as required, including precepting new employees and students
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences, American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, or registry eligible
  • Advanced certification in MR within one year of employment
  • Successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually
