Job Overview

Position Summary

The After-School Educator plays a crucial role in transporting children from their educational institutions to the Creative Image Learning Center each day. This program is dedicated to fostering a secure and enriching atmosphere for children. The educator will contribute to a structured, goal-oriented, and professional environment that promotes the personal development of each child.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to curriculum standards and implement developmentally suitable practices
  • Facilitate the Creative Curriculum and engage in program activities
  • Support students with homework and other educational tasks
  • Comply with all traffic safety regulations and follow specific school pickup protocols
  • Implement LOOK AGAIN from BFTS to ensure no child is left unattended during pickups or field excursions
  • Exhibit flexibility and adaptability while working with after-school children during evening hours

Qualifications

Successful candidates for the After-School Educator position must remain informed about BFTS state regulations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The educator is responsible for executing daily lesson plans and providing guidance and assistance with homework for elementary-aged children, as well as offering supplementary materials when necessary.

Experience and Credentials:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in teaching or management within a licensed childcare setting
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Completion of Health and Safety Training
  • Successful BFTS Background Check

Additional Attributes:
Must hold or be willing to obtain a current age-appropriate CPR/First Aid Certification. The educator should be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds as required in daily tasks and emergency situations. Interaction with and supervision of children during both indoor and outdoor activities is essential to the program's success.
