About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at Dollar General. As a Sales Associate, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service and ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unload trucks and receive merchandise in a timely and efficient manner
  • Stock merchandise, rotate and face products on shelves, and maintain a clean and organized store environment
  • Assist customers with locating merchandise and provide solutions to their shopping needs
  • Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to process customer transactions
  • Collect payment from customers and make change as needed
  • Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners, as needed
  • Clean the front end of the store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary
Requirements
  • Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of safety policies and practices
  • Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
  • Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to perform IBM cash register functions
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent walking and standing, as well as frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run the check-out station, stock merchandise, and unload trucks. The ability to push and/or pull rolltainers for stocking merchandise is also required. The role involves frequent handling of merchandise and equipment, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. The work environment is fast-paced and moderate noise levels are expected.
