Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the reporting process for the investment portfolio, including calculating the annual external tax basis, partnership minimum gain, and tax capital account balances.
  2. Develop periodic financial forecasts and budgets for the equity investment portfolio.
  3. Coordinate with the Corporate Tax Department to supply quarterly data for ASC 740 calculations, management reports, financial statement disclosures, and annual tax return submissions.
  4. Review and evaluate annual tax returns for the equity investment portfolio to ensure adherence to IRS and state tax credit laws and regulations.
  5. Assist with equity investments examination Information Document Requests (IDRs) and support investors during IRS or state income tax examination inquiries.
  6. Work alongside external CPAs to compile annual financial accounting packages and tax returns for syndication fund investors.
  7. Deliver precise and timely financial forecasts to investors.
  8. Supervise one staff member.
  9. Execute additional projects or responsibilities as required.
Qualifications

A BS/BA degree in Accounting or Tax is typically required, along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with partnership and corporate income tax, as well as the low-income housing sector, is highly advantageous. CPA certification in California is preferred. Strong Excel skills and the ability to perform complex financial analyses are essential.
