About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Visitor to join our Specialist Community Public Health Nursing team in NHS Dumfries & Galloway. As a Health Visitor, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and wellbeing of children and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with families, local authorities, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, evidence-based person-centred care.
  • Utilize a strengths-based approach to engage families and identify risks.
  • Co-ordinate complex plans of care for children and provide compassionate care.
  • Work in remote and rural areas, requiring a current driving license (or alternative transport arrangements).
Requirements
  • Current Specialist Community Public Health Nursing registration.
  • Experience and understanding of the needs of children and families.
  • Good knowledge of Scotland's Public Health agenda, including Getting it Right for Every Child, The Promise, and the Children and Young People's Act 2014.
