About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Staff Engineer to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including utility-scale solar projects, substations, and transmission line infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the structural design of foundations, ancillary structures, and anchorage for utility-scale solar projects, substations, and transmission line infrastructure.
  • Prepare or direct the structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
  • Review and approve project submittals, RFIs, and support field activities during construction.
  • Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects.
  • Day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Experience with shallow and deep foundations, including spread footings, slab-on-grade, piles, and concrete caissons.
  • Knowledge of connection and anchorage design, including cast-in-place, post-installed, welds, and high-strength bolts.
  • Experience with steel member design, including cold-formed and hot-rolled steel sections.
  • Reinforced and prestressed concrete design experience.
  • Active construction projects experience, including inspections, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Structural design experience for utility-scale PV solar projects.
  • Remote collaboration and working with other disciplines.
  • Design and construction of bridges.
  • Structural inspections of existing structures.
  • Seismic design experience.
  • Distributed renewable energy system design experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, Bluebeam, Finite Element Analysis, and Life Cycle Analysis.
  • EIT/FE certification.
  • Current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
