Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at New Day Recovery. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our residential facility. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our clients, while also assisting with admission and discharge procedures, documenting patient information, and providing medically monitored evaluation and withdrawal management. Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring and medication administration.
  • Assist with admission and discharge procedures, including completion of paperwork and communication with emergency contacts.
  • Document patient information, including nursing assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to monitor for signs and symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal.
  • Provide medically monitored evaluation and withdrawal management to individuals served in the Detoxification Unit.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment, adhering to healthcare procedures and protocols.
  • Update and maintain accurate Medication Administration Records.
  • Perform scheduled medication administration and obtain vital signs as needed.
  • Interact with clients in an appropriate manner, maintaining professional boundaries.

Qualifications:
  • Must hold an unrestricted LPN license in the state of Louisiana.
  • Requires current certifications in CPR and First Aid.
  • Prefer working knowledge of medical detoxification for substance abuse.
  • Knowledge of the signs and symptoms of substance intoxication and withdrawal, including pharmacological factors.
  • Strong team building and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, individuals served, outside professionals, and the general public.
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
