Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Survey Transportation Technician to join our team at Summit Design and Engineering Services. As a Survey Transportation Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various surveying instruments to measure and verify construction layout on NCDOT projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain Trimble GPS Rover and Robot to measure and verify construction layout on NCDOT projects.
  • Interpret roadway and structure plans to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Keep accurate records and reports of project progress.
  • Take field measurements of completed items and calculate contract pay quantities.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with three years of field survey experience OR an Associate's Degree in Geomatics or Surveying with one year of field survey experience.
  • Understanding of NCDOT projects and nomenclature.
  • Proficient in Trimble surveying equipment and software, Microsoft Office, and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
