Position Overview

Role: Cosmetology Laboratory Assistant
In this part-time role, you will support the Cosmetology faculty by stepping in as a substitute instructor, working up to 19 hours per week with a competitive hourly wage of $26.00.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize your cosmetology expertise to assist faculty during classroom and lab sessions.
  • Oversee student engagement and adherence to faculty instructions.
  • Carry out tasks as directed by the Director of Cosmetology.
Performance Indicators:
  1. Exhibit core values and prioritize the success of students.
  2. Contribute positively to the college's mission and support student learning.
  3. Evaluate student capabilities, accommodating diverse learning styles.
Required Qualifications:
  • Possess a valid Texas Cosmetologist license.
  • Have a minimum of two years of professional experience in cosmetology.
  • Experience in a community college environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage students effectively and foster their success.
  • Maintain a collaborative and collegial approach within the college community.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to follow directions accurately.
