Lead Operating Room Assistant

Job Summary:

The Lead Operating Room Assistant is responsible for organizing and supervising the daily work activities of the orderlies, ensuring that the daily tasks are completed thoroughly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Orderly Pool, including transportation and assistance to PACU /SAU.
  • Assign and organize tasks to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff members, including orientation and mentoring.
  • Identify and address equipment issues, and ensure replacement or repair as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain par levels of supplies for the environmental maintenance and running of the OR region.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and provide input for staff performance evaluations.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of directly related work experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing and medical terminology, as well as cardiopulmonary resuscitation methods and procedures.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the job.
