Job Overview

Position Summary

This role is accountable to the Accounting Supervisor and focuses on documenting financial transactions while ensuring the integrity of financial reports and associated schedules for the organization’s joint ventures. The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for preparing and recording entries related to assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses by gathering and analyzing financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of monthly Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and supplementary schedules for all joint ventures.
  • Generate general ledger entries and perform account reconciliations throughout the month and at the end of each month, quarter, and year.
  • Process invoices and facilitate payments to suppliers.
  • Monitor and analyze Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable by vendor or customer.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and record financial transactions.
  • Maintain a detailed schedule of fixed assets, including depreciation, acquisitions, transfers, and disposals on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the evaluation of financial statements and report discrepancies during the month, at month-end, and year-end.
  • Engage with joint venture partners to address inquiries and provide necessary support.
  • Assist both internal and external auditors by supplying requested documentation throughout the year and during year-end audits.
  • Analyze revenue and expenses for accurate allocation.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as required by management.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members across various departments within Regional One Inc.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a corporate environment focusing on General Ledger or a related area.
  • Experience with QuickBooks is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong skills in Excel.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the capability to research and reconcile accounts.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all levels to achieve optimal results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
