Job Title: Senior Accountant

The primary function of this position is to perform accounting functions for assigned product lines, including working with operations to ensure adherence to scheduled month-end activities, such as reviewing physical inventories, processing journal entries, account reconciliation, and variance analysis.


Key Responsibilities:
  • General accounting for assigned product lines, including month-end close, review of physical inventory adjustments, journal entries, and review of financial statements.
  • Analysis of monthly P&L, including commentary on significant variances.
  • Active engagement with operating management to understand underlying business issues, ensuring product line financial reports are in compliance with IFRS.
  • Prepare monthly performance measures and balance sheet financial reporting.
  • Analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Participate in regular product line team meetings to understand key initiatives, business issues, and develop relationships with product line team members.
  • Prepare and present relevant financial data, as required.
  • Distribute the monthly product line financial statements to operations, review with them to resolve any unusual items or questions.
  • Prepare other business reporting as required and address ad-hoc business inquiries/requests.
  • Preparation of workpapers and supporting schedules for the mid-year and year-end audit process, including tax requests.
  • Assist with monthly forecast and annual budgeting process.
  • Guide staff accountants as needed.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience.
  • Microsoft Office products proficiency required.
  • Hyperion and SAP knowledge a plus.
  • Experience with SOX Compliance is required.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) basis a plus.
  • Ability to work under time constraints with a large and diverse group of internal customers.
  • Occasional local travel may be required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple processes and projects under tight deadlines and to research to resolve ambiguous information effectively.
