Job Summary

This full-time position requires a high level of availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The successful candidate will engage with members, provide product recommendations, and prepare special cuts of meat ordered by them. Key responsibilities include:

  • Cutting, grinding, and processing fresh meats according to company standards.
  • Weighing, packaging, wrapping, and labeling cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to meet company packaging requirements.
  • Maintaining the meat case with an attractive display of available products, ensuring inventory levels remain optimal.
  • Receiving and unpacking meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer.
  • Inspecting and storing meat upon delivery to ensure quality meets or exceeds company standards.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment, display fixtures, and areas within the meat department.
  • Performing other duties as assigned, including placing orders and working in other departments when needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of a training program or apprenticeship is required for this role.
  • Previous experience in meat cutting is essential.
  • Familiarity with automatic/hand wrapping machines is preferred.
  • A minimum age of 18 years old is required for this position.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year

Work Environment

  • This role involves frequent movement within the store, requiring occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping to examine merchandise.
  • Frequent lifting of objects up to 30 pounds may be required, with assistance provided for heavier items.
  • The work environment is located in a cooler area, exposing staff to temperature extremes and loud noises on occasion.
