Visiting Part-Time Faculty Position in Chinese Studies

The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a part-time visiting faculty appointment in Chinese Studies. This is a one-semester appointment with a teaching load of 2 courses. Depending on the candidate's expertise and the need of the Chinese Studies Program, these two courses could be two Chinese language courses, or a mix of language and literature/culture courses.
Responsibilities- Teach Chinese language and culture courses to undergraduate students
- Develop and implement curriculum for Chinese language and culture courses
- Assess student learning and provide feedback
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to departmental decisions
- Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English
- Master's degree or above (including ABD) with expertise in Chinese language, literature, and culture
- Commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching as informed by current practice and scholarship in the field
- Experience teaching Chinese language and culture courses
- Strong research and teaching interests in Chinese language and culture
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds

Provide information about the location of the class and the level of the students in your video, the topic(s) that your lesson covered, and the learning goals you had for the students in that class.
