Job Overview

Join the American Forest Foundation as a Forestry Technician and play a critical role in the conservation and management of our nation's forests. As a member of our team, you will work closely with landowners, conservation organizations, and government agencies to develop and implement sustainable forest management practices that promote environmental stewardship and economic viability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct forest inventories and assessments to identify areas of high conservation value and develop strategies for their protection and restoration.
  • Work with landowners to develop and implement forest management plans that balance environmental, social, and economic goals.
  • Collaborate with conservation organizations and government agencies to identify and pursue opportunities for forest conservation and restoration.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, stakeholders, and partners to promote the American Forest Foundation's mission and goals.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform forest management decisions and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in forestry, natural resource management, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in forest management, conservation, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of forest ecology, silviculture, and forest management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
