Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in preconstruction planning to ensure project schedules and budgets are met.
  • Maintain consistent communication with subcontractors and employees regarding project expectations, schedules, and company policies.
  • Assist in sourcing subcontractors, small rentals, and material vendors for projects in new geographical areas.
Project Start-up and Scheduling
  • Thoroughly understand project specifications, scopes of work, and contract conditions to ensure compliance with documents and quality specifications.
  • Explore and advise on appropriate methods, materials, schedules, and procedure changes.
  • Ensure all materials are properly tested and recorded.
  • Prepare and issue a 3-week look ahead schedule to provide a detailed day-to-day plan of upcoming work.
  • Responsible for scheduling deliveries of small rentals on projects when applicable.
Project Administration, Operations, and Close-out
  • Ensure project sites and company assets are secure and maintain a safe and respectful working environment.
  • Document and report any subcontractor problems or non-performance to the Project Manager immediately.
  • Confirm extra charges from subcontractors/suppliers are reasonable and work is correctly executed.
  • Facilitate weekly project production and safety meetings with subcontractor representatives.
  • Attend progress meetings with core stakeholders and complete daily production reports.
  • Manage critical work environment planning and procedure methods to minimize human error factors.
  • Ensure the project is fully operational, including electrical/technical components, after installation.
  • Finalize the project closeout process, demobilize resources, and turn over the project to the client.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Trade school a plus.
  • 4+ years' experience in the construction field on projects of similar size and complexity.
  • Experience implementing quality control/quality assurance processes.
  • PV industry experience preferred.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, plans, and specs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using a personal computer and company communication tools.
  • Demonstrated Safe Working Practices and knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines.
  • Great attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Proficient with conflict management, prioritizing daily tasks, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Microsoft Project experience a plus.
  • Fork and/or Scissor lift certified a plus.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Valid CA driver's license.
