This role involves travel between designated service areas.

Position Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for conducting comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify speech and language disorders, as well as swallowing difficulties. This professional will develop tailored treatment plans based on clinical findings and provide therapeutic services to clients. Continuous monitoring of client progress and adjusting treatment strategies as necessary is a key component of this role. The pathologist will guide clients through therapeutic exercises and offer expert consultation throughout the treatment process, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and protocols.

Responsibilities include treating individuals across various age groups with diverse diagnoses. Documentation must adhere to departmental guidelines and regulatory standards. The pathologist will demonstrate specialized treatment techniques to clients and maintain adherence to accepted clinical practices.

Flexibility in work schedules and assignments is essential. Participation in departmental initiatives to promote the Good Samaritan Society is expected. The role may involve collaboration with external professionals, including providers and case managers. Supervisory responsibilities may include overseeing assistants and students in delivering care and treatment. Ongoing education and training for peers in specialized areas will also be part of the role.

Work may primarily focus on clients receiving care in post-acute, long-term care, and home health settings as applicable.

Qualifications

A relevant educational background is required in accordance with state licensure.

Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of practice is mandatory.

Preferred qualifications include a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) or progress towards a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).

A valid driver's license may be required based on specific job assignments.

Maintenance of required competencies and certifications is essential, including Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers within the first 60 days of employment.
