Recreation Specialist

As a key member of our team at Insights Training Group LLC, the Recreational Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a variety of recreational activities and programs for our students. • Plan and conduct recreational activities and programs that promote physical and mental well-being
• Direct and supervise volunteers and staff in the instructional phase of recreational activities
• Develop and implement lesson plans and curriculum for recreational programs
• Maintain equipment and supplies necessary for classes and instruction
• Exercise professional judgment and responsibility in the conduct of recreational activities
• Requisition necessary materials and supplies
• Participate in planning course content for recreation and leisure time learning programs
• Assist other recreation staff in meeting the specific interests of students
• Assist with administrative duties of the recreation program
• Plan and conduct field trips
• Train and supervise assigned staff and volunteers in recreational activities and related services
• Use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, email, and database software in performing work assignments
• Maintain discipline, cleanliness, and inventory control in assigned areas
• Post schedules of monthly activities and special events
• Submit a schedule of special activities for the upcoming month to supervisor on the last Wednesday of each month
• Submit a list of off-center and on-center trips for the upcoming month's calendar
• Maintain a stocked first aid kit in assigned areas
• Assist in recruitment of volunteers and supervise and give direction to any volunteer personnel assigned to the recreation area
• Project and participate in recreational programs
• Chaperone and escort students on trips as necessary
• Submit time sheets and other reports timely and according to center policy
• Assist with and train student leaders according to center policy
• Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and comply with safety practices
• Model, mentor, and monitor appropriate Career Success Standards
• Help students become more employable through continuous reinforcement

• Associate of Arts Degree, preferably in a related field
• Valid state driver's license with CDL
• Life guard certificate preferred
