Job Summary:

Alcorn State University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Elementary Education to join our faculty. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate education courses, conduct research, and contribute to outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach a range of education courses, including undergraduate and graduate-level classes
  • Conduct research in education, with a focus on elementary education
  • Contribute to outreach initiatives, including community engagement and professional development
  • Develop and maintain curriculum focused on elementary education
  • Participate in departmental meetings and hold scheduled office hours
  • Provide academic support to other faculty members
  • Serve on departmental and university committees, as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Education or a related field
  • Five years of teaching experience at the college or university level
  • Postdoctoral experience, with a strong record of research and teaching, is desirable
Licensing and Certifications:

Teacher's License is preferred

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work, with occasional exertion of up to 20 pounds

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required
