Process Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at SIG Combibloc. As a key member of our manufacturing operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our industrial machinery and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement cost-effective processes to ensure strict conformance to engineering product specifications.
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) methods to collect and analyze data, improving process performance and resolving problems.
- Provide strong support for departmental standards for safety and housekeeping, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- Pursue stretch goals to improve key indicators beyond conventional means, resulting in the lowest practical manufacturing cost.
- Support the introduction of new technology and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and improvement.
- Interface daily with various departments, including finance, people and culture, IT, maintenance, marketing, production, and sales.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and technical personnel to support day-to-day operations, problem-solving, and process improvement initiatives.
- Initiate, direct, and support limited projects to implement innovative equipment, processes, and methods that increase efficiency.
- Contribute expertise to capital planning, project implementation, and product development meetings.
- Report on projects and activities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Engage actively in meetings and planning activities with the production department.
- Train production, maintenance, and special projects employees.
- Assist and support other locations and departments as requested.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Knowledge of CAD Design software and Microsoft Office Products software.
- Knowledge in Automatic Bag Making, Films, Lamination, and/or Injection Molding is highly desirable.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Frequently standing, walking, and sitting.
- Frequently required the use of hands to finger, feel, reach, or handle machinery.
- Frequently bend, stoop, and reach.
- Visual Acuity (VA).

- You must report or correct any food safety or potential food safety hazard to the person who can correct it. Adherence to policies and procedures related to quality management, safety, SQF, and other regulatory guidelines communicated during your new hire orientation and defined in your SIG Combibloc handbook are mandatory.
