Janitorial Lead

Job Summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Janitorial Lead to join our team in Seattle, Washington. As a Janitorial Lead, you will be responsible for providing exceptional janitorial services and maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of janitorial staff to ensure that all areas of the facility are clean and well-maintained.
  • Conduct regular building inspections to identify areas that require attention and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure that all areas of the facility are cleaned regularly.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and coordinate with supervisor for purchases as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and repairing minor equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all areas of the facility are clean and well-maintained.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as spills or equipment malfunctions, and take corrective action as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in janitorial or building maintenance field required.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • WA Driver's License required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for long periods.
