Ladgov Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Church Musician to join our team in Portsmouth, VA.

Job Summary

We are looking for a professional musician with excellent organ playing skills and experience in music ministry to provide accompaniment services for Protestant worship and Roman Catholic mass at the Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service Provision: The successful candidate will provide professional organ playing services as requested by the Pastoral Care Department, including selecting appropriate hymns and service music for both Catholic and Protestant traditions.
  • Schedule Management: A schedule of services will be provided at least 4 weeks in advance, allowing the candidate to plan and prepare accordingly.
  • Resource Requests: The candidate will submit timely requests for needed resources and materials to the command chaplain.
Requirements:
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with the Pastoral Care Department.
  • Technical Proficiency: Computer skills sufficient to create, maintain, and send reports are required.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of music education and/or experience, with a high school diploma or equivalent, is required. Knowledge of hymnal background, technical preparation in organ playing, and comprehensive knowledge of church music literature are essential.
  • Language Skills: A good command of the English language is necessary for effective communication and documentation.
Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
