Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Tunnel Engineer to join our growing Tunnel Business Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the planning, management, and execution of tunnel and underground design projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead the project management of tunnel and underground projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and client relations.
  • Tunnel Design and Construction: Collaborate with and lead multidiscipline and multi-location internal and external teams through the tunnel design process, performing and/or providing supervision of conventional geotechnical and tunnel structural design analyses.
  • Design Development: Manage the development of designs for tunnels, shafts, excavation support, tunnel rehabilitations, and other underground facilities, including preparation of calculations and design reports, plans, specifications, reports, and other project contract documents.
  • Business Development: Support marketing and business development across the country, with previous experience in business development and involvement with professional organizations being a plus.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train junior staff engineers.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited school of engineering (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer and ability to extend licensure to other US states through reciprocity.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years tunnel engineering experience with a strong project management background and significant practical experience on tunnel and underground construction projects.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, familiarity with AutoCAD, and willingness to learn other software such as MathCAD, STAAD, SAP, RISA, RSA, GeoStudio, Plaxis, FLAC, and Revit.
  • Travel: Periodic travel for projects, conferences, meetings, and other responsibilities is required and anticipated to be up to 20%.

  • Pre-Employment Screening: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required. No visa sponsorship will be provided.
