Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality patient care to ensure the health, safety, and security of our veteran residents in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act.
- Administer medications and perform treatments to assigned patients, utilizing clinical judgment and expertise.
- Document patient needs and treatment as required by local, state, and federal regulations, maintaining accurate and concise records.
- Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive care to patients, including direct care, evaluation, and goal-setting.
- Lead team conferences to develop individualized nursing care plans, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Assign nursing care to team members based on patient needs and available staffing, promoting efficient and effective care delivery.
- Coordinate other duties as needed, including special tests and procedures, to ensure seamless care.
- Direct and evaluate nursing care provided to patients, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Assist with the orientation of new personnel, ensuring a smooth transition into the team.
- Coordinate nursing care of patients when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments/disciplines, ensuring continuity of care.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, families, and other significant individuals, utilizing teaching opportunities to promote health and well-being.
- Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person, ensuring timely and effective intervention.
- Record observations accurately and concisely, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of the Florida Nurse Practice Act, ensuring compliance and adherence to regulations.
- Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the facility and nursing department, ensuring a safe and effective work environment.
- Follow all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, adhering to the scope of practice as defined by the Florida Nurse Practice Act.
- Ensure economical utilization of supplies and maintain equipment in a clean and safe manner, promoting a culture of efficiency and sustainability.
- Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients, such as cardiac arrest, ensuring prompt and effective response.
- Participate in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment, promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
- Actively participate in continuing educational programs for self-development and in overall quality improvement programs, ensuring ongoing growth and improvement.
- Perform other related duties, including special projects, as assigned, to support the team and promote the mission of MyFlorida.
- Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays, as needed, to ensure 24/7 care delivery.
- Must possess licensure as a Practical Nurse in the State of Florida, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
- Must have current CPR certification, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
- Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, to ensure effective communication and documentation.
- Successful completion of the due diligence process, to include but not limited to, a Level II Background check and drug screen, ensuring a safe and trustworthy work environment.
- One (1) year of experience in long-term care / 120 bed skilled nursing facility, with a geriatric population, demonstrating expertise in patient care and management.
- One (1) year of experience providing practical nursing services, showcasing a strong foundation in clinical skills and judgment.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records, ensuring efficient and effective documentation and communication.
