Job Description:

Pratt Industries is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Driver to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move materials and products throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to move materials and products.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Pratt Industries' safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in plant safety committee to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Perform general duties and responsibilities as required, including housekeeping and cleaning of work areas.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of inventory and product movement.
  • Perform basic forklift equipment maintenance and general housekeeping duties.
Requirements:
  • Must be Pratt forklift certified.
  • Previous Pratt and/or two years forklift operation experience preferred.
  • Experience with scanner or barcode warehouse management inventory systems preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task, communicate effectively, and problem-solve.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience driving and operating a forklift.
  • Pass substance abuse screening according to company policy.
Language Skills:
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
Technical Skills:
  • Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities.
  • Product layouts and production specifications.
  • Product quality specifications.
  • Quality standards.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Will be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
