Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team at WIN Waste Innovations. As an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining electrical, instrumentation, and distributive control equipment throughout the facility in a safe and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient equipment and facility operation.
  • Perform electrical preventive, repair, and calibration maintenance procedures safely and professionally with minimal supervision in accordance with Federal and State Regulations, and Company Work Rules, Policies and Procedures.
  • Access and read PLC/DCS program control logic to diagnose and troubleshoot problems and repair with minimal or no supervision/additional training.
  • Initiate and complete work-orders and requisitions and document all critical and or pertinent information on a routine basis.
  • Respond and report to work during off hours when emergency repairs are required.
  • Travel to other facilities within the Company when technical support is required.
  • Take proactive measures to address improvement opportunities.
  • Assume increased levels of responsibility when required or requested. Perform lesser skilled duties when required or requested.
  • Complete the Corporate and Plant Training Programs within the time frame prescribed.
  • Identify and effectively use basic and precision measuring tools to calculate and determine lengths, surface areas, and volumes as necessary while performing maintenance tasks on a routine basis.
  • Follow standard safety procedures, correct safety and environmental hazards, and report them to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Read, understand, and apply information such as, lockout/tagout procedures, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Work overtime.
  • Work rotating shifts during outages or if requested.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; as well as communicate clearly whether using in-situ intercom system, two-way radio or face to face.
  • Anticipate typical problems, identify potential or recurring problems, and take appropriate action. Troubleshoot equipment, diagnose problems and repair.
  • Operate other equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and other mobile equipment.
  • Assist Lead Technician/Maintenance Manager/Supervisor with training and development of 2nd/3rd Class E&I technicians.
  • Proficient knowledge, skills and abilities required to properly identify and safely and effectively use and maintain hand tools and portable power tools on a routine basis while performing maintenance tasks
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in the Industrial or Power Industry Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Field, or a minimum of 2 years' experience as a 2nd class E&I Technician.
  • Licenses required as necessary to comply with State, Environmental, and/or Federal regulatory agencies or if Electrician, licensed as necessary by State, Environmental, and/or Federal regulatory agencies.

  • Operate a 1.5-inch fire hose operating at 125 psi line pressure to the extent required to extinguish fire
  • Operate fire extinguishing equipment ranging from handheld extinguishers to 200 lb portable units
  • Access confined spaces and pressure vessels through standard 12 by 16 manways
