Position Overview:

Only candidates with relevant experience in cost management within the construction sector, particularly those with a background in renewables, will be considered for this role.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Experience working with professionals from the oil and gas sectors is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in forecasting and accruals is essential.
  • This position may be categorized as an analyst role or construction accountant.
  • Experience with SAP (ECC) is highly preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills are required, including pivot tables, graphs, and macros.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 and SAP Work and Asset Management is necessary.
  • Knowledge of data analytics reporting tools is preferred.

Scope of Work:

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver cost tracking and forecasting for major energy supply projects, which may include coal, gas, wind, solar, and battery generation.

This position will collaborate closely with project managers to monitor project financials, ensuring the health of those financials and the overall project by submitting monthly forecasts and accruals.

Historically, these roles have focused on cost or scheduling, but this position is primarily cost-oriented, although the manager is open to candidates with scheduling experience as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute primary project control tasks to support Project Managers, including generating reports, assisting with control activities, and maintaining project schedules and detailed cost tracking.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to gather weekly and monthly updates on costs and schedules.
  • Assist Project Managers in providing accurate project forecasts and reviewing expenditures.
