Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing radiologic procedures to evaluate pathological entities, working under the direction of a Radiologist and utilizing independent judgment to determine appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examinations, explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Review clinical data and perform radiologic procedures, obtaining additional information as necessary.
  • Prepare procedure rooms, replenish stock, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform radiologic procedures, controlling equipment to obtain diagnostic information.
  • Select and administer intravenous contrast media, monitoring patients for reactions and providing immediate care if necessary.
  • Perform imaging procedures, adhering to radiation protection principles, including shielding patients, selecting equipment settings, and using ALARA techniques.
  • Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies, following department infection control practices and techniques.
  • Complete work sheets, logs, patient records, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assume teaching and educational responsibilities, mentoring new hires and students while maintaining own responsibilities.
  • Resolve image exceptions, ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS, and complete study indexing in the Radiology Information System.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Maintain required hours of continued education.
  • Registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or registry eligible, with registry obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
