Your Contributions
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the collection, compilation, and analysis of data from various sources including site surveys, blueprints, technical drawings, and reports for project development and design.
  • Utilize advanced mechanical engineering techniques to identify enhancements in complex building and infrastructure projects, encompassing concept development, design, procurement, and operational phases.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and inspections of existing and proposed site conditions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates while coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
  • Manage mechanical design and construction projects from inception to completion, including rehabilitation, new builds, and operational specifications.
  • Lead the implementation of innovative technologies and strategies to ensure the effective functioning of mechanical systems.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on engineering and construction issues related to mechanical systems.
  • Supervise larger-scale projects, ensuring team members understand their roles and responsibilities while managing project budgets and timelines.
  • Review engineering plans and specifications to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Engage with public and private entities to address engineering and construction challenges.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Develop a client base for mechanical engineering services and identify new business opportunities.
  • Mentor junior staff to support their professional growth.
  • Stay updated on the latest mechanical engineering practices and technologies.
  • Collaborate with professionals across various disciplines on funded improvement and development projects.
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering.
  • PE license is mandatory.
  • Experience in projects from design through to construction close-out.
  • Interest in diverse market sectors such as healthcare, commercial, and transportation.
  • Proficient in mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in mechanical infrastructure planning and construction management.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards and compliance practices.
  • Ability to conduct inspections and investigations in line with regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong self-leadership and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and guide junior team members.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in HVAC load calculation software and Revit.
  • Flexibility to meet project-specific schedules.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • LEED Certification.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector.
