We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Ryder. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of heavy-duty trucks.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and diagnostics and repairs.
- Identify and repair complex mechanical issues, including engine, transmission, and electrical system problems.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Interact with customers to facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates.
- Coordinate work schedules and prioritize workload to meet customer needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred.
- Basic tools required.
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
- Non-Commercial Driver License Class E preferred.
- Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment.
- Experience with preventive maintenance (PM) and vehicle repairs.
- Knowledge of air brake systems, hydraulic brake systems, and cargo handling/transfer systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
