Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Altru Health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients in compliance with licensure standards. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop patient care plans, identify barriers to discharge, and provide patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Orient patients, family members, and other relevant parties to the purpose and procedures of therapy evaluations and treatments.
- Select and perform evaluation and treatment methods that align with patient age, diagnosis, symptoms, and physician orders.
- Coordinate treatment schedules with other disciplines using appropriate scheduling procedures.
- Monitor program effectiveness and outcomes, and develop new programs as needed.
- Perform pain assessments and take appropriate actions according to standard operating procedures.
- Document all required and pertinent patient information, including precautions, orders, and initial plans of care.
- Participate in the development and accurate documentation of discharge plans with the interdisciplinary team.
- Identify significant changes in patient condition and take appropriate actions, as evidenced in reporting, staffing consultations, and documentation.
- Provide clinical supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) in a collaborative manner, following state licensure and care delivery standards.
- Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) certification from the North Dakota State Board of Occupational Therapy or the Minnesota Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of start date.
- Driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
This position requires frequent driving and working in an indoor environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
