We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Altru Health. As a Regional Therapy Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients in compliance with licensure standards. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop patient care plans, identify barriers to discharge, and provide patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Orient patients, family members, and other stakeholders to the purpose and procedures of therapy evaluations and treatments.
- Select and perform evaluation and treatment methods that align with patient age, diagnosis, symptoms, and physician orders.
- Coordinate treatment schedules with other disciplines using appropriate scheduling procedures.
- Monitor program effectiveness and outcomes, and initiate new programs as needed.
- Perform pain assessments and take appropriate action according to standard operating procedures.
- Document all required and pertinent patient information, including precautions, orders, and initial plans of care.
- Participate in the development and accurate documentation of discharge plans with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide clinical supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) in a collaborative manner, following state licensure and care delivery standards.
- Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) certification from the North Dakota State Board of Occupational Therapy or the Minnesota Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
- Driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
This position requires frequent driving and working in an indoor environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
EducationA Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy is required for this position.
