Neurosurgeon Assistant

Opportunity Overview

At Mercyhealth, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neurosurgeon Assistant to join our well-established Neurosurgery practice in Janesville, WI. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our neurosurgeons in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile patient medical data in both hospital and clinic settings.
• Administer and/or order appropriate diagnostic tests, laboratory tests for neurosurgical patients, and interpret test results for deviations from normal.
• Perform therapeutic procedures, including suture removal and wound care management.
• Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, complete discharge summaries, and assist in provision of continuity of care.
• Assist neurosurgeons with in-patient hospital rounds and emergency department consultations.
• Perform first-assistant duties in the operating room.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program.
• Hold valid WI APNP or PA license.
• Other certifications as required.
• Highly collaborative and self-motivated individual with strong communication skills when working with patients, patient families, and coworkers.
