The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a key member of our outpatient registration team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, ensuring accurate and timely registration, and maintaining a clean and organized front desk area.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
- Verify patient information and obtain necessary documentation, including insurance cards and demographic information.
- Enter and update patient information in our computer system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Compile and maintain patient medical records, including appointment scheduling and coordination.
- Collect patient co-pays and outstanding account balances, and prepare office batches for reconciliation.
- Communicate with insurance companies and assist patients with scheduling specialist appointments and testing.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous related experience preferred.
- Previous healthcare experience a plus.
